Who Are We?.. Our Story

Our Lady Star of the Sea is a small little parish Catholic parish in Amanzimtoti.

The community from Our Lady Star of the Sea is a warm collection of folk; ranging from the young and enthusiastic to the not so young, yet wise, and at times just as enthusiastic.

Our parish has been blessed with such amazing priests throughout the years, the last of these shepherds, currently residing and overlooking our parish is Fr. Massimo Biancalani who has managed to grow onto our little community, a part of the furniture at Our Lady Star of the Sea

Where We Are

  • All the little things...

    Our community of young and old involves themselves over and beyond the call of duty.

    Mostly giving of themselves unconditionally not only to their faith but to outreach programs and the development of the faith of those around them.

  • Life Teen

    Life Teen is the high school catechetical programme that has transformed our youth. It's an American-based programme which aims to lead teenagers closer to Christ through relational ministry.

    Through Life Teen our team has been able to convey the truths of the Catholic Church to teenagers in a way which is exciting, interactive and genuine, allowing them to truly engage with what they are taught. The programme derives its success from the fact that it is Eucharist-centered, consecrated to Mary and run by a team of people who love the God and people they serve.

  • Edge

    Edge is our primary School Catachism program. The layout and approach is much like that of the "Life Teen" program, in both structure and layout, although it is our little Catholic's so the Edge course material is specific to where they are in their faith (growth).

  • RCIA

    The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is an amazing course to get those on track with where they are in their faith.

    Some people manage to loose their way over time or find that they don't know as much as they should about their faith, and this is where RCIA comes into action to educate those in their faith, and you are never too old to learn.

    RCIA is also the faith reform program at Our Lady Star of The Sea so anyone who wishes to complete their sacraments, or join the Catholic faith makes RCIA is the place to be.
